Currently (Vol.1}

Currently {Vol. 1}

 I have just recently started reading A Mama Collective and just love her blog. She has started a series called: Currently. This series is just a regular, every day post about what is going on in her world that day. So, I am joining in the fun with her Currently series!

Thinking about ...So many things. About how I want my chest cold to go away. Tonight, I will be covering myself in essential oils & going to bed early! My children have been battling colds for the past few weeks & I was hoping to evade the bug. No such luck.

I am also thinking about how ready we are for spring. Living in Wisconsin, we are used to cold winters, but this year has been bitter & never ending.  Even 45 and sunny sounds amazing right now.

Thinking about the beach party themed elementary school dance that I am planning for this Friday evening. Do I have everything, will people show up, will we have enough snacks, will people dress up?

Thinking & wondering about why my 5 year old son has been talking naughty at school & got a note in his backpack that he was on yellow light today... The joys.

Thinking is something I never stop doing, even when I sleep my brain is dreaming up a storm.

Reading ... The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. I started reading the book a few months ago with the book club that I started. We discuss the chapter on Friday's on our Facebook discussion board. I have enjoyed learning how other people view happiness, how experiences change us, and just learning from others in general on how to look at life & our happiness.

I have a huge stack of magazines that I need to catch up on as well & pages of blogs on Bloglovin that I haven't had a chance to look at lately either.

Listening to...my new favorite song, Happy by Pharrell Williams. I can listen to this song over & over. Every time I hear it, I smile!

Also, listening to the background noise of my husband watching the news in the living room.

Thankful for...The amazing apple pie & decoration that my grandma made for me this weekend. We recently gave her our freezer  that we had from college over 10 years ago. She kept trying to give me money for the freezer & I continued to rip up the checks she gave me. So, finally I told her that I would love a fresh baked pie instead for payment. So she made me an apple pie. For those who know my grandma, they know she makes the best pies in the world! She also made me decoration to hang above my sewing machine. I showed her the idea online a few months back and she decided to cross stitch it for me! I am so lucky & thankful to have such an amazing, giving & talented grandma.
PS. We ate the whole pie this weekend! It was amazing!

Enjoying...the mini date night with my husband tonight. We went out for St Patrick's Day at our local Irish Pub - Paddy Ryan's & shopping at Target. Even just a couple hours to ourselves once in awhile makes a big difference.  Thankful for wonderful parents & in-laws to give us those little breaks.

Excited about... The fun items I bought in the Target dollar section to make Easter art projects with the kids this weekend! I LOVE the Dollar Section!

Looking forward to...My  long weekend girls trip to Florida in late April. We are staying on Anna Maria Island in a beach house for 4 days. I can't wait! Sun, sand, girl time, drinks, no children, no plans...Perfect!  I am looking forward to laying in the sun, riding bike on the island, having drinks at a local bar down the street & having girl talk until the wee hours of the night! Much needed trip for all of us & the beach will be nice too!
