Currently {vol.38}

This Currently series is just a regular, every day post about what is going on in my regular every day life that day.

Hello Friends! Happy Monday!

Remembering: My Aunt Nan. We haven't been to church as much as we should be lately, and we went yesterday morning. A visiting student priest gave an amazing sermon. He was incredible, he reminded me so much of the priest from when I was growing up & married my husband & I. He kept everyone's attention, his words resonated with me on a  level that hasn't happened in a long time and I told my husband I wished he would stay at our church. Anyways, his sermon was about how important family is and how we need to think about the joys in our life even when it is so hard to do that. He told a story about his grandparents and what he saw them go through and I started to cry...and couldn't stop. It reminded me so much of my Aunt Nan and her attitude on life. She always chose to look on the bright side, even when she wasn't feeling well. While sitting there, I had an instant NEED to go to her grave site. I just needed to touch her grave and talk to her. My family piled into our car & we drove 30 minutes to the cemetery where she is buried. Once again, the tears started falling...but while I held my hand on her headstone, I felt this peace come over me...like God had other plans for me that day, I was not needed at the Boy Scout party or cleaning my house, I needed to go see Nan that day and I feel so much better now that I did. Love you Nan, thanks for always reminding me to Choose Happy!

Loving: The haul I made at the local antique store for my son's BIG KID ROOM project! For $50 I bought an oar, an antique fishing pole, lantern & a globe! I was very happy with all my finds!

Building: Shelving for my son's room! This week I will be staining the boards for the project, so we can hopefully put it up this weekend!

Making: Brandy Slush! It's a family tradition for Christmas, so I will be sharing the delicious recipe with you later this week!

Starting: To kick it back in gear. I know I have said it quite a few times this year, but this time it's for real. I have let the pounds creep on & let it go too far. You know the feeling when your clothes are too tight, even your underwear and you look in the mirror and wonder how did I let myself do that? I wish I could say it was my hormones, which have been out of whack, but it's no excuse. To be honest, I haven't been exercising or eating like I should and it's high time I get to it! So, here's to starting 2015 off early...I'm starting my challenge NOW!

Excited for: Saturday! My girlfriends planned an early birthday celebration for me! YAY  Minneapolis Holiday Market in the afternoon followed by dinner & drinks! I can't wait!

Quote of the Day:  It's deciding!
