A little Relaxation, Sun and Adult Only Time

And we're off!! Ready for some R&R. Sunny Florida, here we come! ✈️
With my husband's crazy busy work schedule, we decided it was time to take some time for ourselves. Thank heavens for grandparents to take care of the kids for a long weekend!

We have arrived! Sun, Palm trees & the Gulf of Mexico. Check ✔️

Sanibel Island was our first destination. We enjoyed lunch at The Island Cow & then went to find Billy's Bike Rentals to rent bicycles for a few hours! We had a Blast riding bikes & checking out all the sights and great beaches on Sanibel!

Our beach views from the bike ride!

Our next adventure was to find another beach on Sanibel to relax for the afternoon in the warm sun! We definitely found it!

After a long, yet wonderful day in the sun, we decided to check out a fun new burger & brewery place just a couple blocks from our hotel in Cape Coral. Fords Garage was booming! Amazing decor, beautiful open air seating, huge beer selection & the BEST burgers I have ever had! If you are ever near Cape Coral, check it out!!

Sunday, we decided was BEACH day in Fort Myers Beach!
We started the morning with a walk out onto the fishing pier & watched some of the fisherman.

When it warmed up, we found our spot on the beach & enjoyed soaking up some  Vitamin D that we haven't been getting at home in Wisconsin!

Our views from where we were...

Enjoyed this amazing Rum Runner at Pete's Time Out near the beach!

Enjoyed dinner out in Fort Myers Beach at Doc Fords Rum Bar! Delicious seafood, drinks, beautiful sunset & great evening out with our friends!

Monday morning, we ventured out to Lovers Key State park where we took the trolley out to the beach to look for shells & enjoy the sunshine.

After our morning at Lovers Key, we headed back through the crazy traffic to Fort Myers Beach. Note to self- take bikes!

We spent our afternoon laying in the sun & sitting in the edge of the water, as this was our last full day in Florida.

Monday evening, we had dinner at Parrot Key Caribbean Grill with friends from the small town that we live in. We didn't realize we were both going to be in Fort Myers Beach at the same time! Small world!

We were ready to go home & get back to our kids, but we were not ready to leave the warm sunshine & swimsuit weather.

Here are a few of the beautiful pictures I took & converted into watercolor with the new Waterlogue app!

Much needed getaway & we had a wonderful time! Can't wait to start planning our next adults only getaway!

Thanks for reading!
