Our 4th of July {Lake Superior Edition}

Our 4th of July
                                     {Lake Superior Edition}
  {via}

This year we spent the 4th of July on Lake Superior. We have spent many years on Lake Superior since I was a child. I love being on the lake, breathing in the fresh lake air, unplugging for a few days from life and relaxing with my family.  This post is a photo snapshot of our weekend!

We can't head up north without stopping at the famous candy store in Hayward, Wisconsin.

We also made a stop at the Angry Minnow brewery for a delicious lunch. Their fish tacos are heavenly! I wish I lived closer!

We have arrived! My favorite view. Lake Superior is so beautiful.

Beach time! With Lake Superior having ice until June this year, the water was very cold. We dipped our toes in & the kids swam a little bit. A local woman told us it was 40 degrees 2 weeks prior to us being there. It was 75 degrees on July 3rd. We were loving it! My son pretended he was Tom Sawyer floating on a log & using a stick to paddle!

Gorgeous Sunset & Warm Fire=Perfect Night

Friday, Happy 4th of July! It was another gorgeous day!

 We stopped at Halverson's Fish Market in Cornucopia, WI to get fresh fish for dinner. The kids enjoyed watching them filet their fish from the day's catch.

Breakfast at Pine Cone Ole's in Herbster, WI

I love my babies. We enjoyed our walk back to the cabin together.

We also spent a little time on the Cornucopia beach.
 Our family on the 4th of July!
We can't have 4th of July without Sparklers & Fireworks on the beach!!
Saturday, we enjoyed a day in Duluth!
 We love Playfront Park near the Canal Park area. I have been playing at this park since I was a little girl, it has changed a bit in the last 30 years.

In the afternoon, we went exploring at Chester Park. This park is definitely a "hidden secret". We enjoyed hiking the paths by the beautiful little river & waterfalls.

Canal Park fun! We love this little water feature in Canal Park across from the Dewitt Seitz building.

Fireworks in Cornucopia to end our little 4th of July weekend getaway!
