Valentine's Day isn't about a big bouquet of roses, sparkly jewelry or a fancy dinner. Valentine's Day is a "Day of Love" and this year we did just that. Spending the day with those you love and letting them know now much you care. This year, we showed our grandparents/ our kids great grandparents how much we love them by giving them the gift of time and a few sweet treats!
Our first visit started at my Grandpa's house. We brought fresh danish, donuts, fruit & orange juice to enjoy breakfast with him for Valentine's Day. We looked at old photos, laughed about old stories and watched a movie. The kids enjoyed taking turns riding in his walker/scooter!
Our next visit was to my Grandma & Grandpa's house. My grandpa's birthday was on Sunday, so we brought Dairy Queen ice cream sundaes to celebrate his special birthday a day early. We visited in the living room together while the kids played and danced around.
A little conversation and cuddles on the couch together.
Our last great grandparent stop was at my husband's grandparents. We had not been to their house in a very long time, so this was extra special. The kids enjoyed looking at old photos of their grandma and her siblings throughout the house. I am always amazed that they raised 16 children, Grma C is a saint!
Our last quick stop ended at my husband's parents for our kids to get their Valentine's from their grandparents- delicious heart cookies on a stick with frosting! Mmmm
We are so blessed to have so many grandparents & great grandparents in our children's lives. What an amazing day we had showing our grandparents and great grandparents that we love them & appreciate all they have done for us. I am pretty sure they loved it too... their smiles were enough for me!
How did you show the ones you love that you loved them this Valentine's?

DeleteHow lovely! That is so wonderful and they will cherish those memories with their great/grandparents. I know my great grandfather and I used to take a lot of walks together and I still have the special walking stick he "made" me (meaning he picked it up off the ground haha) Even though I was very small they are memories I still have and will always treasure.
